‘Memory of a Wave’ - a driftwood light sculpture , Nature as a memory collection

A sculptural light piece shaped from stoneware , a memory of a memory of my long walks on Australian beaches picking up driftwood carved by the ocean. Its curved form echoes the quiet motion of passing waves, holding the softened memory of tide and time. The sculpture has handpainted details of tiny waves using coloured glazes. 

When illuminated, the piece casts a warm, ambient glow. The LED lighting follows the driftwood’s natural arc, creating a gentle sense of movement—like tendrils of coral emerging suspended in stillness.
